Only God’s intervention can end Boko Haram – Mark

Senate President, David Mark, on Wednesday took a critical look into the myriads of crisis rocking Nigeria especially the insurgency situation that is currently tearing the nation apart and submitted that only God’s intervention can save the country. He therefore urged Nigerians to “turn to God as the only sure way out of the nation’s security , political and economic problems.” Mark  who stated this while addressing  members of the Youth  Prayer Network of Nigeria, who were in his residence for the commencement of the Monthly National Prayer, expressed optimism that God will heal the land “only if we turn to Him to salvage  the myriads of crisis  facing the nation.” Mark, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Paul Mumeh, said “what the country is passing through at the moment is a test of  our faith . We must be steadfast in our prayers  that God will save Nigeria.” According to him, “What we need now as a nation is sincerity of purpose. Sincerity on the part of everybody; the government and the people. With prayers, our country will see the end of this insurgency and God will totally heal our land.” The senate president reiterated his call for a free, fair  and credible elections in 2015 , adding that “Nigerians should continue to do the right thing both  in the presence of God and in the sight of men.” He called on youths across the country to embrace the network  as the needed agents of  positive change towards building a greater Nigeria. The Co-ordinator of the Rev. Father Charles Ndubuisi, said youths across the nation have come together to raise their voice to God in the midst of the lingering crisis and to seek change of attitude among the younger generation. He explained that  the group came together to offer prayers to God to end the issues of insecurity, corruption and unemployment in the country. He said, “We have come together to raise our voices to God. The future belongs to young people and as youths by implication, we are praying for ourselves too”. Ndubuisi  called on Nigerians to believe in Nigeria and develop friendship across board  just as he expressed optimism  that Nigeria shall overcome its present challenges.
