President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday commiserated with the Anyiam-Osigwe family on the death of Nze Micheal Anyiam-Osigwe. In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the President said he joined the bereaved family in mourning the deceased who, like his brothers, was his good friend and associate. He observed that the late Coordinator-General of the Anyiam-Osigwe Foundation who was particularly committed to promoting national unity and progress through education would be missed by all who knew him. The statement read in part, “President Jonathan also believes that the Anyiam-Osigwe Foundation’s Memorial Lectures which have featured many distinguished personalities including serving and former Heads of States and Government from all parts of the world, will stand to Nze Michael’s eternal credit. “The President prays that Almighty God will receive Nze Michael’s soul and grant him eternal rest. “He similarly prays that God will comfort Nze Michael’s family, friends and associates and grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss of the very cultured and respected gentleman whose virtues were much admired at home and abroad.”
